YInformer is Windows 7 compatible!

Latest News ~

Important YInformer announcement will be made tomorrow (8-29-2010). Check the parent site (http://programmingsource.net/www) for more details!

There have been reports of certain anti virus programs that are saying YInformer is a virus and/or trojan, these reports are completely FALSE!  I will attempt to contact those vendors to clear it up.

Please note that YInformer is NOT open source software! We offer no code, packets or parsing on how it works and all requests of such will be ignored.

What is YInformer? How does it work? Why should I use it? What is it used for?
YInformer is the award winning, ultimate Yahoo Messenger (YM) buddy/ID scanner.  This program will allow you to scan your YM buddies or any YID to see if they are online, even if they are in invisible or stealthed!  It also has the option to see if the target has their webcam being broadcasted in Yahoo Messenger.
For best results
, it is highly recommended to use the latest production version/build of Yahoo Messenger.
This will send (depending on the scan type) specially created packets to send to the target ID.  The packet that is sent will return some data back and YInformer will parse that data to determine the online status of the target and/or the cam status, if selected.  Depending on what is returned, it will then show if the target is online or really offline.  If said target is invisible (stealthed), it will show them as online!

YInformer has several different scanning methods to choose from that are highly accurate when the right one is used and YInformer is clean, compact, easy to use, full of options and fully supported!
YInformer has primarily been used to see if your YM buddies are online (but invisible) but has expanded to any YM user, not just someone on your buddy list.  YInformer has also been used to track cheating (or suspected of cheating) spouse/significant others.

What about those status checking websites? How do I use it? Is this even legal? What about privacy?
Yes, there are some online sites that will render a user status and you do not even need to download a program to do it. There are some drawbacks to this though. YInformer is reliable and easy to use and does not rely on a webserver for its main function.
YInformer will also return (if selected) if the user has their webcam being broadcast, these online sites do not have that feature.
YInformer will let you view and/or save your scan history, unlike our web counterparts.
YInformer lets you scan a LIST of names so you do not have to go 1 by 1!
Do you really need another reason?
This program will let you scan on anyone in Yahoo Messenger for online status. Simply install this program and use the Y Informer shortcut to launch this program.  We also have an image loaded online help guide at http://help.yinformer.com!

We have several help and support pages with information and troubleshooting options. We are always glad to help when we can.

Make sure to check our Bug Reports, FAQ's and YInformer forums if you have any questions or issues using YInformer.

Will you go to jail using this program?
NO, absolutely not! However, if you are stalking or harassing someone and get caught, that could be different!

Will Yahoo terminate your Yahoo ID using this program?
I have never heard of this happening. If you use YInformer excessively, your ID could get banned for a while though.

There are ethical concerns over privacy. If a user is marked as invisible, then why expose that they are online?  You can see answers to questions like this in our FAQ's section.
